Run thru History
The mud will not dampen my enthusiasm. It may even enhance it. After a morning of riding some seriously muddy trail while photographing and cheering racers in the Northwest Arkansas Mountain Bike Championships at Devil’s Den State Park, I needed a break. What better way to get away from all the excitement than a head clearing trail run? Luckily the trailhead for the three mile Yellow Rock Trail was close by. I love this trail. My feet have laid memories in the dirt here: family hikes, adventure races, watching the afternoon light play on the leaves across the valley from the overlook, appreciating the craftsmanship of the CCC work at the pavilion and bridges on the trail.
It was a quick short run with enough elevation change to give my body the work it deserved and the views to give my spirit the lift it needed.
